Announcement #10

Daniel, the club needs the keys and club funds back immediately. Please give them to Stephan this Monday.

The movie showing night on November 30 is coming up soon. Several people have commented on the movie, which tenatively is the Gurren Lagann movie, and some people would like to watch other movies instead. We would love to have suggestions, however, we need them in ASAP (this means by Monday, November 9th, night AT THE LATEST). The reason for this is that we want to start advertising for the event starting next week and we need to make a flyer featuring the movie in question. So if you want to watch something else...TELL IT TO US! The best way would be through the forum under events and movie showing. Thanks!

The forum is still looking for ambassadors to the other Cal Animage forums, namely Eta (UCLA) and Elipson (UC Irvine). Please contact Cooking Papa if you are interested in this opportunity to foster interclub communication.

Prospective officers to be, please make sure you have a job to do by at least this Monday. We would like to get the club going, but we still have a lot to do. It would be appreciated if you all could help ease our work load so that we can all do more for the club.

Please, all club members, help us decide what anime to watch next quarter! Check the forums (under either suggestions or events), a list of winter 2009/2010 anime has been posted. Write down what you would like to see (it need not be on that list, but a couple from that list would be nice). Keep in mind that we will still continue watching Kimi ni Todoke and Tengami Bachi next quarter, so a list of 2-4 new anime titles would be much appreciated.

Tackyglue (from the forums) has posted a great idea about a new club symbol (mascot, etc.) which would replace the CAB Haruhi symbol the club currently carries. If you have any ideas, suggestions, or even have said artwork, please send it in!

Events! We are planning to do more stuff next quarter! Help us brainstorm any ideas on places to go, things to do, sights to see, etc, etc, etc.

Announcement #9

Submissions are now open for the T-Shirt contest! Submit your design to animage(at)ucsd.edu! However, this idea will only go through if people are willing to purchase T-Shirts. Ask Darryl regarding this information.

We are planning to go to Tapioca Express after the next meeting this Monday 11/2/09. Come join us and get to meet fellow club members.

That’s all for now...more to come later. Have a Happy Halloween!

Announcement #8

Outlulz from the forums offered Cal Animage Beta an opportunity to film a commercial for Thurgood Marshall Television (TMTV) as a chance to get our club “out there”. We would like people to participate in this once in a lifetime opportunity and at the same time help out the club. Tell us on Monday if you would like to participate and Outlulz, please talk to me (Cooking Papa) at the beginning of the meeting on Monday.

In an effort to update and expand our anime/manga/japanese games (maybe)/figurines library, we will be purchasing new anime/manga/japanese games/figurines through AS funding. Please post your suggestions on the forum under the “Buying Anime/Manga” (found in Events) and list the estimate price and a place to purchase it (post the website).

We still want you to send in your anime openings and endings! Be sure to do so soon on the forum.

Please suggest any anime you would like to watch this or next quarter so that we don’t have to do another preview showing and can jump right into watching anime.

I’m looking for someone who wants to help with the club. I have created a Cal Animage Beta account in every other Cal Animage club forum. I’m looking for people who are willing to be our ambassador to their club and monitor and speak on behalf of our club on their club forum so we can exchange ideas and talk about what each club is doing. Please talk to me on Monday if you are interested.

I’m looking for someone who is willing to design a post-her (poster) for the PC showing on November 30 of an anime movie that we will decide during the next meeting. We currently have chosen Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann-hen but are willing to change it to watch something else. Nothing licensed in the United States but we may ask permission if you want to watch something that is licensed, no guarantees though.

Become a part of the Cal Animage community by posting your own ideas into the Cal Animage Beta forum. We are always looking for new and different ideas. So next time you go on the forum, please create a new topic so that we may talk.

All officers, please return your old clubroom keys to Cooking Papa.

If you would like to dress up in a costume and come to the meeting on Monday, please do so. I always encourage people to show off their passion for anime by dressing up as their favorite characters. If you have a costume, come to the meeting wearing it. Last year, it was only the officers who dressed up and this year I hope to get more people (sadly, I cannot dress up as I do not have any cosplay, but it would be cool to have members dress up and then we can take a picture and post it on the website (we can also use it for our commercial if that goes through).

Username: Betamember Password:CalAnimageBeta. Once you’re on, submit some anime openings/endings for the contest that’s being held. Feel free to copy links to the videos in the forum with your name so we know who you are.

T-Shirts! Yes, this idea is still in process. We may do this later. Look for further announcements.

Thanks to all that came out yesterday night to the second showing of the quarter. Announcements regarding next time, location, and anime watching will be posting the coming days. Have a good week!

Anouncement #3

I want to catalogue and throw out all of our old anime in the Anime library. We currently have 350 VHS, 150 DVDs, and 75 manga that must be catalogued and if old, thrown out.

I am planning a get together on the 17th or the 18th for all of us to get together and catalogue everything.

Help your club and you may get to take home some of the anime that we throw out (this has a high probability)

Please bring a computer or if you don’t have a computer, we can give you paper and a pencil to help out

Please tell us on MONDAY whether you can come, thanks.

Announcement #2

This year we have AS Funding to purchase club supplies. If you would like us to purchase any anime stuff, please inform us BY MONDAY.

Update:

We are in the process of switching to a new and improved website. While doing this, we will still use the wordpress (the blog link the upper right hand corner) and slowly transition to this cool website. Since this is new, there will be some bugs and kinks to be worked out so bear with us. If you have any suggestions on how to improve this site leave a comment in the blog section. Remember to come out on Monday to the first showing of the year!
